Monday 3rd March marks World Hearing Day. I recently collaborated with my Italian surgeon and Otology specialist Dr Italo Cantore along with UPMC Salvator Mundi International hospital in Rome, Italy in documenting my hearing loss journey.
I am sharing this video here on social media to raise awareness to those who might be in a similar situation as I was or indeed who might know someone who is battling with hearing loss.
I am indebted to my surgeon Dr Italo Cantore. Not only is he incredibly gifted in his medical field, he is so professional, very empathetic and a true gentleman.
He has hugely improved my quality of life in all aspects of my life- the ordinary, domestic, social, professional and above all my music 🎶.
I am so very privileged to have him as my surgeon and Otology specialist.
I experienced a turbulent two years with ENT consultants in Ireland… but that was all part of my journey and I believe it was providence that led me to Dr Cantore in Rome and I am enormously grateful and very thankful to him.
Please feel free to share this video should you wish. It might serve as a gentle nudge of encouragement to someone struggling with hearing loss who feels there is little or no hope for them or indeed for the person who is apprehensive or nervous of undergoing surgery.
